During the realization of the project “Promotion of the tourism potential of the ancient city of Izmail” an open competition was held in June-July 2020 to create a tourist logo for Izmail. 24 participants presented 36 works for the event. According to the rules of the competition, the vote took place in 2 stages. First, the 6 best works of 36 were selected by residents of Izmail by online voting. And then the winner was chosen by the Organizing Committee of the competition, consisting of 17 representatives of various spheres of the city’s life, including representatives of local authorities, public figures, specialists in the field of design, visual arts.

In both cases the biggest number of votes was received by the work of the Kiev designer Anton Zhukov, personifying the sun over the Danube and emphasizing the close connection of the city with the river.

The logo received an official status by the decision of the Izmail City Council on September 7, 2020 and is in free use. It is intended for use in the creation of souvenir, printing, presentation, advertising products, for the official events and promotion of the city as a tourist attractive location.
